So many people relentlessly search for authentic happiness but they’re not aware of the actual science behind it. Thankfully, this changes for YOU right now!
Let’s start at the beginning:
Did you know that every thought that you have causes a chemical reaction in your brain and body?
When you think positive, empowering, constructive thoughts, your brain releases a healthy, beneficial flood of chemicals into your body. If this happens frequently enough, the cells of your body come to literally crave these healthful chemicals (the same way they’d crave caffeine or alcohol for instance)…
Best of all, when your cells crave these chemicals it causes your mind to respond by thinking positive thoughts— just to satisfy the craving. AND all of this almost always happens without you knowing or noticing it…Sometimes the emotion is so intense that you do notice it….Either way, this positive cycle has the power to naturally fuel a feeling of authentic happiness for those who experience it.
Sounds awesome right?
Well, it would be awesome if most people actually thought constructive, empowering, powerfully positive thoughts most of the time….but they don’t. So, the same cycle occurs but it occurs with negative thoughts.
And guess what happens when your body cells are addicted to negative thoughts? (Hint: it’s not a sense of authentic happiness).
Instead, the same cycle takes place but this time the chemicals released in the brain and body are NOT empowering or healthful…instead they’re stress-based chemicals like cortisol and adrenaline. This all creates tension and stress in the body which can even lead to illness or disease!
Knowing how this impartial cycle works, the best thing to do is make sure that your body cells are accustomed to a positive, empowering biochemical homeostasis or ‘norm’ rather than a negative or stressful one. This forms the true basis for consistent, healthy, authentic happiness.
But you ask: How can I make my brain and body cells “addicted” to a positive state of being (happiness, joy, and success) rather than a negative one?
This simple exercise should help:
First of all, recognize that this world is lawfully organized and CONSTRUCTIVE.
Science shows with each passing day that this world is driven by law (each scientific discovery unveils a law that always existed but that we didn’t know about before). And every law serves a positive function and purpose that facilitates growth and development of all things.
Just think of all the laws that keep our bodies thriving, alive, and healing! That’s the essence of God’s creation –that the universe is driven by constructive, scientifically lawful purpose.
So, next time you encounter ANYTHING (even if you think it’s ‘bad’ at first), ask yourself: What is constructive and positive about this occurrence? This question alone will push your mind toward a feeling of authentic or genuine happiness rather than stress and despair.
This will get you thinking more constructively, which elicits a more beneficial chemical reaction in your body…and, when done frequently enough, this eventually causes your body and brain to naturally crave (and naturally satisfy) a state of constructive happiness or joy. This natural cycle then forms the basis for what we call authentic happiness.
The real key here is to practice, practice, practice! And, it’s so easy that you can start right now:
Anything that happens today – good or bad – just check in with yourself and ask yourself: What’s positive and actually constructive in this? What’s the obvious benefit for me here? If nothing comes to mind immediately, just keep looking for your benefits and growth opportunities… you’ll find them.
The more you do this each day, the more your brain and body cells become used to and eventually “addicted” to being naturally happy, joyous and powerful. In essence, you’ll be naturally addicted to being happy without even trying….and THAT my friend puts you a world above the rest …it puts in the category of experiencing consistent, authentic happiness to be precise.
Today is your day. Now is your time. Live like you mean it. Because you too deserve to be totally, utterly, absolutely happy. Just go for it!
And remember: you can be “addicted” to feeling gloomy, depressed and anxious or to being naturally happy, joyous and powerful. The effort is the same. The choice is yours! Choose authentic happiness now.
